One zine, three ways to give it

On paper

Print it at home on the printer you already have, Letter or A4. Fold, hand it over. This is the point of the app.

As a carousel

Save every page to your photo library as its own image, in reading order, each one matted on the zine's own paper color. Multi-select the set and it posts as a carousel, cover first.

As a PDF

A digital copy with every page in reading order. It opens on any phone, with nothing to install.

Read one

An eight page zine made in Pleat, exactly as the app saved it — these pages are the app's own Save pages as images output, nothing restaged.

Eight pages, or sixteen

Every zine starts at eight pages on a single sheet. With Plus you can make sixteen page zines instead, which use two sheets printed on both sides.

Plenty of printers won't print on both sides by themselves. If yours doesn't, Pleat runs the job one side at a time and tells you exactly when to turn the paper over, then remembers your printer so you only sort it out once. A two-color print look

One of the free themes prints your photos as two inks on cream stock, the way a small press does. Grain is its own dial, and the second color can sit a hair off the first — the drift a real press gives you — or dead-on if you'd rather.

Fifteen page layouts free, thirty-three with Plus

Pleat varies them as it goes so no two pages sit the same way, and you can change any page yourself. Covers come in three styles free and eight with Plus.

A photo across the fold

Any facing pair of pages can carry one photograph across both, and it lines up when the zine is folded.

No way to make it ugly

There are no font pickers and no color wheels. Every dial is a short list of positions drawn to work together, so anything you pick looks considered without you having to art direct it.

Captions

Write on any page and your words are typeset to match the zine. Change the layout later and they are set again to suit it.

A link on the back cover

Add one and it prints as a QR code, with the link written underneath so people can read it without scanning.

Works with your printer, whatever it is

Single-sided printers get walked through the job one side at a time, and Pleat remembers what yours needed. A sixteen page zine can also be split into two eight page ones, one sheet each, so nothing ever has to be flipped.
